Apparently, There is also a unit from APC called "SmartSlot Measure UPS II"
Which is PERFECT and only about 140 dollars.  Works with any APC UPS which
has a smartslot (SmartUPS and Matrix) or can be added to the Serial Port on
any APC UPS (and probably anything else with a serial port, for that matter)
by combining it with a "APC SmartSlot Expansion Chassis for Smart Slot",
about 45 dollars.

This unit monitors temperature and humidity, and has 4 user definable inputs
for additional sensors (smoke, water, fire, entrance, etc.)

This is what my company will be utilizing for the job, since we have a
SmartUPS 1400 with an unused smartslot.
