So far I am in some kinds of tests myself.
So. I've downloaded Cisco-CAR-MIB.my from ftp.cisco.com, and fiddled around.
I use:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.2.I.INA.1 - CAR IN Switched bytes
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.4.I.INA.1 - CAR IN Filtered bytes

.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.2.I.OUTA.1 - CAR OUT Switched bytes
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.4.I.OUTA.1 - CAR OUT Filtered bytes

I - Interface index
[IN|OUT]A - ACL index (I have two ACLS one for IN, one for OUT)

As for now, with my modifications, the MRTG conf line looks like:

Target[blah-in]:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.2/N.N.N.N/INA.1&.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.4/
N.N.N.N/INA.1
Target[blah-out]:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.2/N.N.N.N/INA.1&.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.4/
N.N.N.N/OUTA.1

Where N.N.N.N is the IP address of the interface I am monitoring.

Assuming INA=1,OUTA=2,N.N.N.N=192.168.1.1

Target[blah-in]:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.2/192.168.1.1/1.1&.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.
4./192.168.1.1/1.1
Target[blah-out]:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.2/192.168.1.1/2.1&.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.
4./192.168.1.1/2.1

Soon, (in a few minutes ;)) I'll post the diff. It's no big deal, but it
saves a lot of time.

All my best,

Sandu;

Very interesting work and thanks for the info. I have been trying
to figure out CAR oids for our IOS 12.X Ciscio routers, but my work is not
done yet. Can you please send us some sample OIDs that you use for
monitoring CARs? Thanks is advance for any help and information that you
can provide us.
