Yes, there are rules for both inbound and outbound traffic.... (as I can see
the uptime and host info packets must be going between the switches and the
MRTG host).

All I have configured on our F/W is UDP 161 (SNMP) and UDP 162 (SNMP traps,
used only for our NMS system).

Have you added the rule both inbound and outbound?

Anders:
If Eth0 is ok then your F/W is correctly set up, check your target, are you
sure it's the right one?
Try using the interface description to name your target.
