[mrtg] mrtg for APC SmartUPS and Novell

while I'm squirting emails all over the place I might as well mention
that I've got mrtg working with the 'powernet' snmp dohicky that
allows you to query stats for a SmartUPS 1000 (and others) connected
to a Novell server. mine is 3.12 and already runs it's own snmp,
and I'm also using the mrtg extension NLM....

installation is simply 'load powernet', this extends the snmp stuf to
include the 'enterprises.318' hierarchy for APC ups's

anyhow, the fly was the UPS stuff and I created an awk script to
query the powerchute log file before I figured out how to use the
powernet.nlm. (and how to read the MIB file) - the APC documentation
does not mention the powernet.nlm at all that I can see, except for
one obscure reference in the install instructions, but they don't say
WHY you'd want to install it, just HOW

so I end up with these graphs
http://terrapin.ru.ac.za/departments/iwr/mrtg/upsindex.html

and these oid's....

Target[UPS.1]:
enterprises.318.1.1.1.4.2.3.0&enterprises.318.1.1.1.2.2.2.0:public at xy
Legend1[UPS.1]:LoadPercent
Legend2[UPS.1]: Temperature in degC

Target[UPS.2]:
enterprises.318.1.1.1.3.2.1.0&enterprises.318.1.1.1.4.2.1.0:public at x
- 200
YLegend[UPS.2]: Volts-200
Legend1[UPS.2]: input
Legend2[UPS.2]: output
current input and output voltage

subtracting 200 gives you more resolution on the graph

Target[UPS.3]:
enterprises.318.1.1.1.4.2.3.0&enterprises.318.1.1.1.2.2.1.0:public at x
Legend1[UPS.3]: loadPercent
Legend2[UPS.3]: %battRemain

Target[UpS.4]:
enterprises.318.1.1.1.3.2.3.0&enterprises.318.1.1.1.3.2.2.0:public at x
- 200
YLegend[UpS.4]: ACVolts-200
Legend1[UpS.4]: min-200
Legend2[UpS.4]: Max-200
min and max input voltage over the last minute

that's about it for the useful oid's, there are a number of 'status'
ones too which could be useful, giving up/down/fault readings, but
until mrtg can display bulleted lists.....
