[mrtg] problem

Hello,

I have installed a lot of MRTG servers in the past but this is the first 
time I've met the following problem:
When a leased line goes down (because of a problem) mrtg becomes totally 
crazy and gives me strange values.
For example on a 4Mb leased line I can have 16Mb.
does anybody know something about this problem ?
I'm running MRTG version 2.9.17 on W2K.
