I don't know the linux commands you are using, but a great resource for help
with NT batch files is the newsgroup alt.msdos.batch.nt - those guys can do
anything with batch files, and they seem to love the challenge. Might want
to run it by them.

Subject: [mrtg] NT SNMP Scripts
> Our unix machine was recently taken offline. With it went every one of my
MRTG configs/scripts and everything I used to monitor various things. Being
it that some of you may do some of the things I did I'm hoping someone may
be able to lend some advice. Because of this change I decided to setup a
Windows 2000 machine to do all of my monitoring. I had a simple csh script I
would run to dynamically create index files for me. One of the things I'm
still trying to figure out is how to get an equivelant of the following
line:
> echo "`snmpget 192.168.150.157 public .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.2.0 | grep = |
awk '{print "Reason for Power Cycle: "$3}'`"

utilities I thought I needed to complete this in Windows. I got a unix port
of echo, grep and awk. The problem is that .bat files don't know how to
"escape" with the ` character. It instead just produces an error. Do any of
you know how to fix this dilemna of mine? Any leads would be greatly
appreciated.
