Well istong,
It seems as if you've read the manual...
Just because mrtg-ping-probe is an external command, doesn't mean
it can't use the same options as a standard snmp request. Those
options are still valid for any external command you write that works
within the framework of MRTG.
Unscaled - bad thing for stuff like pings, IMHO. It will stay scaled to
the AbsMax or MaxBytes, (I think)...
AbsMax + MaxBytes. - you need to use MaxBytes if you use AbsMax.
MaxBytes, in your case is the highest response time that mrtg will
accept before it starts dropping the values. If you get a ping response
above the MaxBytes, MRTG will discard the value, assuming it is
incorrect. If you Put AbsMax at some value above MaxBytes,
the MaxBytes will show up as a horizontal red line on the graph
when the ping value goes above it, but below AbsMax.
Test out different combos until you get the one you are happiest
with.
HTH,
Paul

I have graphs that are being created using mrtg-ping-probe and mrtg.
Whenever a ping skyrockets it throws the rest of the graph out of wack.
I need to see the normal details and limit or exclude the graphing of
excessively high values.
Are there options to do this such as Unscaled, AbsMax and MaxBytes, etc????
Thanks
