You need to get a summary line from ping such as:

PING 172.20.3.3 (172.20.3.3): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 172.20.3.3: icmp_seq=0 ttl=255 time=1.1 ms
64 bytes from 172.20.3.3: icmp_seq=1 ttl=255 time=0.6 ms
64 bytes from 172.20.3.3: icmp_seq=2 ttl=255 time=0.7 ms

--- 172.20.3.3 ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 3 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 0.6/0.8/1.1 ms

Fiddle a bit with the options to your ping until you get such a line,
then retry ping proble.
