[mrtg] Error Logs

When running MRTG (ver. 2.9.7) in daemon mode on a Linux server, where do
the errors get logged to? I've seen message sent to the administrator mail
box when MRTG can't locate a specific host, if down for example, and it also
shows the errors on the screen. Is there a log file created somewhere?
