I have just received a few mails regarding the post I just made, so maybe
I'm wrong in what I say but this is what I believe is the difference between
Gauge and Absolute is.
Gauge:
MRTG will log the actual value returned.
Absolute:
MRTG will take the actual value returned and divide it by the polling gap
(default 300 seconds)
Default ('gauge' or 'absolute' option not used):
MRTG will minus the previous value from the new value and divide the answer
by the polling gap.
