[mrtg] Problems with Cisco 2924C

I have four cisco WS-C2924C-XL routers.  One is an older model (deeper
case) and older OS version:  11.2 vs 12.0 in the newer models.

I'm having now problems getting stats from the three newer units, but the
older one doesn't seem to want to respond consistantly. The configuration
files are basically identical.

I've played a bit with the MaxBytes entry and other things.  Every now and
again I get data, but most of the time it reports very low values.  (see
log extract at the end).

Clues on how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated.  mrtg does not
report any errors and only reports starting time with the --logging
option set.  (MRTG 2.9.17)  Note: right now it appears to be working
again, but I don't know that I have changed anything... other than
to stop manually running mrtg to test it - could too frequently
running mrtg cause these symptoms?)
