[snip: how to build index pages for mrtg & rrdtool graphs]
This of course depends highly on the amount of devices, interfaces
and/or audience.
You could create an index page for WAN links, another for LAN
interfaces etcetera. Other people may be interested in totals so
you create yet another index. Router gods will like an index
per router (or maybe all routers per site), windows NT people
need an index per service and another per site. Etcetera, etcetera.
To improve the drool factor, you could provide clickable network
maps either schematic, geographic or even both.
If possible, make it easy for your audience and create many
indexes to your graphs. This will attrackt more viewers.
Of course, if you live in a volatile environment you don't want
to maintain many indexes and you just tell your users to do the
hard work of looking up the interfaces themselves.
cheers,
