MRTG will consider the larger part of the day to be unknown.  This
normally means that it will use the last known value and repeat it,
unless you choose to use "unknaszero".

The daily graph will not be useful.  Skip it using "Suppress".

MRTG works with UTC time internally.  Updating at midnigt may not
give the desired result, updating at 00:00 UTC will be much better.

IMHO you should not use MRTG itself.  Use RRDtool as this can be
setup to match your requirements without having to hack.
