[mrtg] Re: how to configure mrtg to get data from file

first install ucd-snmp (aka net-snmp) from http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/

configure snmpd (vi snmpd.conf) per net-snmp instructions

run cfgmaker (included with mrtg) against the server to get ether stats

goto http://netophilia.net/linux-oids.html if you want to graph more


also, later today, I will add a section on configuring snmpd to that page above.
