The perhour option is set. This basically means that the
numbers for the rate are multiplied by 3600.
So, 8 errors in *approximately* 300 seconds
--> 8/300 errors per second
--> 8/300*3600 errors per hour
--> 96 errors per hour.
I said: approximately 300 seconds. To reach 88 errors per hour
when you measured 8 errors, the interval must have been 327 seconds
or, more likely, the interval wasn't measured on proper boundaries
but for instance one minute off (so: hh:06 to hh:11, not hh:05 to hh:10)
What happens in that case is that a part of the errors are recorded
into another interval just before or after the one having 88 errors
per hour.
