[mrtg] Question regarding how MRTG Polls

Hi,

How does mrtg poll a device? does it send an snmp trap for EACH interface or can it do multiple interfaces with the one trap?

In terms of size how big is the average snmp trap? Im slightly worried about the traffic being caused on our WAN links and would like to know this....any ideas??
