Go to http://www.mrtg.org/
click "MRTG Configuration Reference"
Search for "Note, if LegendI or LegendO are set to an empty string"
somewhere on 85% of the page.

"LegendI[x]:" *should* do the trick.

looks fine.

Could it be that you're running an older version?

Even if you have installed a newer MRTG, you may still be running
the older one if this one is located somewhere on disk at a place
referenced earlyer in the PATH.
