I use Big Brother from http://www.bb4.com on my linux, solaris, and AIX boxen.  It has completely changed the way I deal with mrtg data.  I still have some specialized scripts to do stuff with MRTG, but I rely primarily on Big Brother to scan the mrtg data and tell me when things are wrong.

What program do you use to send out the threshold responce?  I use blat all
the time in NT, cept I have build MRTG on Linux, so that wont work well,
will it...
What programs nativly get installed on a RedHat 7.1 installation that I
could use?  Im sure there is something...

I am a little slow on this one so bear with me.....
I want to setup threshold checking in MRTG, but am confused about the
following...
ThreshMinI, ThreshMinO, etc..

What are acceptable values for these? Per media?  
After that, I "think" I am home free, as I have tested out my mrtg mailer
program already
