[mrtg] CPU thrashing

We have MRTG 2.9.17 installed on Win2K with ActivePerl vers 5.6.1 build 628
 
It is working fine accept that the CPU jumps to 100% every few seconds. The
perl.exe is the file which does this. It only happens when MRTG is started.
