[mrtg] Rateup reports: Corrupt log file, The backup log file was invalid as well.

Why is this happening? 

When I started the logging of the equipment it all worked fine, but when I
looked on it the next day it produced this error and all the many of the
.log files were
missing from the output directory. I run mrtg v.2.9.17.
