Hi Josh,
I'd recommend stepping back and making sure an explicit snmpget works. (If
that fails, I'd skip the shortcut/variables, and dig up the exact OID.) Try
something like this:
% snmpget <net_device> public system.sysUpTime.0
system.sysUpTime.0 = Timeticks: (1581252254) 183 days, 0:22:02.54 # My Cisco
switch returned this output.
