[mrtg] mrtg and NAT

Is there any documentation IF and HOW MRTG works
when the monitored devices are subject to address
translation (NAT)?

It is assumed that static translation
is in operation between the monitored
device and the MRTG station.

My potential concern with NAT is that
the MRTG station will receive SNMP packets
with a source IP address that is different
than the IP adress which is contained in the
SNMP payload (latter is private configured
IP address whereas former is public translated
IP address).  Can this be a problem?
