Ron,

The only tool I know much about like this is a network sniffer. The one I
use is Network Associates Inc, Sniffer Pro / DSPro (Distributed).

We can pick up all traffic on a segment and decode the IP packets and see
port numbers. that system also has the ability to generate reports in HTML.

The only drawback is that it's a little costly to use for a permanent
installation, as you'll always want to use it on a different segment /
different capturing criteria.

I am looking for an way to count specific packets.
I would like to increment a counter when an event of this specified packet
appeared and make a HTML page with this information.

Has anybody seen this kind of tool?
