That is exactly right. I do this for 30 customers' routers. I have one
config file that handles everything.

Although I haven't tried it myself, this might work:
Specify a root Working Directory at the top of the .cfg. Then specify a
Directory tag with the global option before the section for each device.
WorkDir: /home/httpd/html/mrtg/
Directory[_]: router1
.
. [router1 targets]
.
Directory[_]: router2
.
. [router2 tragets]
.
This should put the router1 targets in the subdirectory "router1". The
next Directory[_] tag should modify the subdirectory so that router2
targets end up in subdirectory "router2".
Does this sound right?
