[mrtg] FW: How does one debug SNMP errors?

I think this is some sort of protocoll error as you get a "out of sequence"
error for the PDU "protocoll data unit". you should check the snmp version
on the target is the same version (v2.0) as you run on the MRTG server ( You
might want to (re)install some newer snmp RPM's on your Linux-mrtg-server).
Also... you said that you get this mess twice a day; does that mean polling
for the rest of the day goes fine?
Good Luck

Onderwerp: [mrtg] How does one debug SNMP errors?
On average of about twice a day, I get errors like this:
SNMP Error:
Error decoding response PDU:
Expected sequence tag 48, got 43
%{%i%s%*{%i%i%i%{%@
^
SNMPv1_Session (remote host: "hostname" [www.xxx.yyy.zzz].161
community: "********"
request ID: 1251986574
PDU bufsize: 8000 bytes
timeout: 2s
retries: 5
backoff: 1)
Where do I start debugging these?
Is this a problem with the device being polled?
With the network?
With the computer doing the polling?
With mrtg?
With something mrtg is invoking?
Should I just ignore these errors?
MRTG Rev 2.8.12 on a RedHat Linux 7.0 system if that matters at all.
