What if you ran 2 sets of configs??? one set for the rrds and one set for
plain mrtg graphs. I dont know if this would work with your setup or with
the number of reports you need to generate.

or

Since the pngs are not generated til they are needed with rrd
(dynamically), there should be a way that at 1am you can force the
generation of the pngs then move them to a directory for your clients
customers to view, as suggested by Paul.

I'm not sure what you mean by reports.
You mean all 1000 RRDs? Or something else? You could
always name the pngs something fairly standard, and have a
web page that would call the same pngs. Just have the
pngs updated and maybe a time of update on each web page.

It would be easy to write your own script to do that.

True, but how do I touch all 1000 reports? to perform this task?

Yes, it generates them dynamically. But once they are
generated, you could take them out of the tmp directory
and put them someplace else for later viewing.

RRD will dynamically generate the graphs. I need my graphs to be static so I
don't need to evoke a script whenever customers visit the page.

Why not just create the graphs whenever and put the end point as 1am?

One of our clients doesn't want customers to see live data. Only graphs
showing the previous day until 1am. One idea was to convert the rrd files to
log files at 1am, then run a script that calls mrtg to create the static
graphs. Then repeat this process every night.

You mean going from RRTool backwards to rateup?

All,

Anyone had success or attempted to convert RRD file to MRTG log files?

Thanks
Marc
