with the newer cisco ios releases you can monitor vlan instances

IOS 12.2(6) on my 7204 VXR is capable, i don't know with which IOS release
this started, (i know on the 12.1(16) its not able to get vlan instances).

cfgmaker will grab the info for you (by default -- at least it did for me)
