Correct, I monitor both 6509 MSFC and 3662 the 3662 displays accurate VLAN
stats but due to cut through switching the 6509 VLAN stats are essentially
useless..

Also I have not come across an IOS that does not display VLANS but we use
all recent IOS's (currently 12.2(12a))

While this is true you may want to do some testing of the numbers. The last 
time I looked at this on 65xx the numbers were extremely low for vlan 
rates. It appeared as though cut-thru switching/routing across vlans was 
occurring (by default).snip.....
