If MRTG doesn't get input, MRTG cannot generate output ...

This is in general:  First make sure you can get the numbers
(for instance using snmpget, or cban in this case) and then
you can try and convince MRTG to collect those same numbers.

There may be people on this list able to help you but in general
you should be able to get a solution faster, if at all, at other
places on the Internet.   This is *not* an MRTG problem.
