-t is unix (ttl). -w is windows (timeout - go figure).

Subject: RE: [mrtg] Ping Probe config questions
Thanks, your suggestion has me where it now works. Now I need to figure out
the rest. I need to change the timeout value to 2000 but if mrtg-ping-probe
uses my ping problem the command would be -w 2000 not -t as shown in the
example.
I contine to work on this.

Subject: RE: [mrtg] Ping Probe config questions
I am also using on Win32 (win2k)...
Is the path to your Perl executable in your path? Mine is, so this works
(names have been changed to protect the innocent)
target[ping_test]: 'perl f:\mrtg\bin\mrtg-ping-probe 192.168.0.1'
If that fails try
target[ping_test]: 'path_to_perl\bin\perl.exe
path_to_mrtg\bin\mrtg-ping-probe ip_of_target'

Subject: [mrtg] Ping Probe config questions
I saw the prior question on ping-probe and decided to try it but am not
having success. I am running this on an NT workstation and get the following
messages.
The name specified is not reconiaed as an Internal or external command,
operable program of Batch file.
Warning: Could not get any data from External Command
`c:\mrtg-2.9.12a\bin>perl c:\mrtg-2.9.12a\bin\mrtg-ping-probe 172.13.2.2`
He is a copy of the config that I have been running. I have tried several
different ways to list the target path but all results are the same. This
is the first time for me to go out of the normal mrtg box and try one of the
contribs.
Could some one tell me where I am going wrong. I have ben following the
mail on this subject and it only seems to be getting more confusing.
