Lars,
Get a MIBbrowser (GetIf for instance). This will allow you to browse the MIB and check the OID you want
to monitor. You'll get something like 1.3.6.1.4.42.1.5.4.1.6 and you'll have to add the instance (usually .0 if
you have only 1 NIC or CPU or ...)
Enter this in the cfg file at TARGET, (remember, you NEED 2 OIDs even if they're identical) and you should
be on track.
Hope this helps,
Laurent.

Subject: [mrtg] OID vs. MIB ?
Dear list,
I have now got a MIB for a network device I am going to monitor.
I may read in the MIB by a statement in the cfg-file,
but how do I design my TARGET statement ?
What I do not understand is how I can figure out the numeric OID.
Also I tried to use the symbolic name, but it is not obvious for me how
MRTG can/will find the complete OID based on the fractional symbolc name
in my MIB.
Take this one as an example :
x25StatTxDMFrameCount OBJECT-TYPE
SYNTAX Counter
ACCESS read-only
STATUS mandatory
DESCRIPTION
"Number of DM frames transmitted since the last time statistics were
cleared."
::= { x25StatEntry 19 }
How can I call this one ?
Brgds,
Lars
