Thanks for the quick reply,
I was fooling around with those options, and so I now removed the "Log:"
option and got the same error.
I would agree with you that there must be something in the config file that
has a - in it. But if I use the same config file and comment out the rrdtool
option, it works fine. No errors. (although I am not using rrdtool then,
just the regular rateup).
Here is the config file:

First thing I noticed is that you have LogDir and WorkDir together.
That will not work.
If you specify ONE of the Dir porperties, you need to remove WorkDir
and specify all the Dir properties. Fix that, then you probably will
have the same error.
Do you attempt to reverse and of the polled targets?
I know you said there is no - anywhere, but more common config
items have been forgotten.

Hello all,
I currently have MRTG installed and working fine on a windows 2000 server
box.
I am wanting to go to the RRDtool to save some process time.
My problem is this, when I add the following lines to a test config file
(based on one that already works in MRTG):
WorkDir: d:\rrdtool\www\
LogFormat: rrdtool
PathAdd: d:\rrdtool\bin
LibAdd: d:\rrdtool\perlshared
LogDir: d:\rrdtool\log
and then call MRTG, I get the following error:
D:\>perl mrtg test.cfg
'-' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program
or batch file.
ERROR: Cannot update d:\rrdtool\www\test_1.rrd with
'1025708956:3110459986:4211181129' opening 'd:\rrdtool\www\test_1.rrd': No
such file or directory
When I remove the RRDTool settings from the same test config file, MRTG runs
without
any complaints. So I know that MRTG can find the directories etc.
I can't figure out where the '-' is coming from in the error. I know it is
not from the config file, and I looked in the MRTG perl script, but didn't
see anything out of the ordinary.
I have MRTG-2.9.18, and RRD 1.0.38 installed along with ActivePerl 5.6.1.632
. so everything is pretty recent.
I know that RRDtool executable is working as I followed the tutorial
examples and everything was OK.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
