>From my experience, changing things like growright etc... takes a collection
period or two to update the graph. This is the nature of MRTG. It doesn't
update the weekly and monthly graphs every polling cycle. It only updates
them as the next period of data completes (30 minutes for weekly, 2 hours for
monthly, 1 day for yearly).
Your graphs will likely auto-correct themselves if you wait until tomorrow.

Subject: [mrtg] Re: How to alter the bandwidth scaling on graphs?
Thanks for your email, Garry.
I've taken your advice, but things are not quite working correctly yet!
Below is most of my CFG file --
As you can see, I've got the MaxBytes & AbsMax converted to Bits / sec
numbers (took me a while to realise that!).
I've also been playing with the global defaults, trying to get some,
well, global defaults!
What I've got so far, is that the Daily graph (1st graph) displays fine.
Correct orientation (growright), correct scale (bits/s), correct graph Y
axis labelling (bits/s).
The Weekly & Months graphs do their own thing though! They display in
Bytes (not bits), both is figures & graph labelling.
How come there's differences in the graphs when each interface has the
same parameters, and these cover all the different time period graphs?
Is it something to do with the SNMP data available? Ie, the longer time
frame graphs not displaying correctly because they haven't got anything
to display and are therefore not reading the CFG file?
I'm mystified!!
---->>> I've just fiddling a little more (with global defaults), and
suddenly the weekly graph is displaying correctly (whichever way I set
the CFG file defaults) so it looks like it's something to do with the
graphs reading the CFG file or not!
I find that strange!!

Try this:
### Interface 1 >> Descr: 'Ethernet0' | Name: 'Et0' | Ip:
'193.133.125.222' | Eth: '00-30-94-e6-25-d3' ###

SetEnv[193.133.125.222_1]: MRTG_INT_IP="193.133.125.222"
MaxBytes[193.133.125.222_1]: 64000
AbsMax[193.133.125.222_1]: 64000
Unscaled[193.133.125.222_1]: dwmy
Title[193.133.125.222_1]: Traffic Analysis for 1 --

This should set the max Bandwidth to 512k, draw a red line at said bw,
and ensure that none of your graphs scale.
