you are probably missing some of the registry keys.

go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servies\SNMP\Parameters\Extensio
nAgents

the following keys should be there: (there should be more there, but this is
the minimum)

Name	Type	Data
1	REG_SZ	SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\LANManagerMIB2Agent\CurrentVersion
10	REG_SZ	SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\IASAgent\CurrentVersion
2	REG_SZ	SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\RFC1156Agent\CurrentVersion
3	REG_SZ	SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HostMIB\CurrentVersion
4	REG_SZ	SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SNMPMIB\CurrentVersion
5	REG_SZ	SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SNMP_EVENTS\CurrentVersion

Hi,

I have tried out many many things but I am not able to get this working.
But it is working on my couple of servers but not on others. Does anybody
know why this happens and the workaround.

1) I copied the mibs and dlls from the working system and restarted the snmp
service
2) Checked the registry entries
3) Checked permissions
4) Uninstalled and reinstalled snmp

There is no firewall and I did restart the service and also did a reboot of
the server but still the same error. Could it be related to some permission
problem, When I do an snmpget localhost public -> it shows the output of
all the OIDs except for the mib-2->host which is .1.3.6.1.2.1.25 section.

Be sure that there isn't a firewall inbetween the two machines that may be
interfering. Also restart snmpd: root at bogus> snmpd
