Paul,

I agree, re:the developer list, but was unsure about posting to it since Im
not an MRTG developer.

I can modify the threshold scripts (or Tivoli) to wait for a number of
iterations before sending an alert or I could modify Netsaint to do alert
thresholding on the MRTG log files.

However, that brings its own issues in, such as time delay before
notifications etc. We are trying to use these triggers to alert engineers of
critical issues on servers. But we need to do this without waking them up
every 1/2 hour with false alerts. If they get too many, then they ignore the
alerting. But, that 15 minute delay can easily be the difference between
fixing an issue and having the server crash. 

It would be kinda nice to get MRTG fixed so that it:
a) behaves how it used to
b) behaves how the documentation says it should behave.
