[mrtg] Negitive Numbers

Can someone point me in the right direction  to graph negitive numbers

Also for some reason in the log file  i have

1020860473 0 0 0 0
1020860150 0 0 0 0
1020860100 143 8 520 35
1020859800 520 35 520 37

when first  fired up i get the negitive number  after that i do not all
the 2 diget number here should be negitive
