When you debug these kinds of problems, have a close look at the
log file.
The first line of the log contains the numbers as fetched from the
device.  If they are 0, nothing is returned by the device or at least
mrtg thinks so.  Compare the numbers with numbers fetched using
another SNMP program (such as snmpget).  If that other program gives
no results as well then you know you can't expect mrtg to work.
If the first line *does* contain numbers, and the second line does
not, you have a problem with the ocunter type or the maxbytes.  See
the faq for plenty of information.
