[mrtg] Strange Error Message from MRTG 2.9.25

I am currently laying down a new installation of MRTG 2.9.25 on Red Hat 
8.0. I am building my configuration files and testing them using MRTG and 
rateup before I shift over to using RRDTool for logging.

A sample of one of my config files is as follows (for a Cisco 2620 router - 
community names and IPs have been deleted for security reasons):

Am seeing a strange error message each time I run MRTG. The error message 
is as follows:

"Malformed UTF-8 character (unexpected non-continuation byte 0x2e, 
immediately after start byte 0xf0) at 
/usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/../lib/mrtg2/locales_mrtg.pm line ........"

I am getting numerous occurrences of this error message each time I run 
MRTG with one of my configuration files; each occurrence pointing to a 
different line in locales_mrtg.pm. The error message does not appear in the 
mrtg.log file when I include "--logging /var/log/mrtg.log" in the command 
to run MRTG.

MRTG appears to be generating the correct .html, .png and .log files, and 
the data in them appears to be valid, so I am unsure whether I should be 
worried about the error message or not. Can anyone shed any light on what 
is happening and whether I need to be concerned about the error message?
