At a certain point, the new log file only has zeros.
The old log file will have useful data at that same point.
This is where you split both files and recombine the useful parts.
You MUST have updated both files or else they aren't in sync.
Both files should have the same time stamp in the same lines
except maybe the first three lines or so. Lines 10 and further
definately should show the same time stamp. Not *near* the same
line number but *at* the same line number!

Just as you say: copy them over. Nothing special. And yes, you will
have lost the recent updates.
