[mrtg] Re: MRTG & RedHat 8.0

RH set the default LANG to UTF8 in RH8. This *breaks* a lot of stuff. (I 
use KDE and have had issues as a result of this). At a command shell, 
type "ENV | grep LANG". I'll wager that LAN=UTF8. Edit your 
.bash_profile (or if you want, the global /etc/profile) and add the 
following:

LANG='en_US'
export LANG

Log out and back in and try again. This should fix your problem. FYI... 
the default UTF8 isn't supported by a lot of apps... even some basic 
stuff like man breaks as a result.
