I'm having issues querying certain M$ devices aswell.
Especially IIS related stuff.

I can do a SNMP walk on the OID's and I get a value returned but mrtg always
returns an error.
error status: noSuchName

I've also checked the below registry settings to make sure snmp is running,
and it is..

Is there anyway to debug these error messages further ?

Thx :)

IMHO, it appears as if the SNMP service is not correctly installed. I don't
think it has to do with . or &.

Check to see if the service is installed, and then check the registy to see
if HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/SNMP/Parameters/ExtensionAgents
has references to SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RFC1156Agent\CurrentVersion
If it is not there, the SNMP will not work with messages as you described.
if it IS there, look for
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/RFC1156Agent/CurrentVersion, and be sure it is
loading %SystemRoot%\System32\inetmib1.dll.

Hope this helps!

P.S. ALL SNMP registry agents work this way!

You have a period (.) after the ampersand (&) in the target line. I think
that might contribute to the cause of the error message. That OID still may
not provide any data though, since you used SNMPWALK and came up with
nothing. That part I am uncertain of.

Subject:	[mrtg] Monitoring Windows 2000

Hi,
How can I monitoring on win2000 install/available memory, utilization disk ,
ICMP/IP Messages/Datagrams, traffic on NIC.

I've tried using SNMP4NT, but when querying the counters , I get error OID
no such name
.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6.2&.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6.3:public>@localhost

no such name
1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.1.1.1.0&.1.3.6.1.4.1.311.1.1.3.1.1.2.1.0:public at loca
lhost

Then I use snmp walk with the same oid to check and get no answer to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I use Mrtg 2.9.22 ,RRDtool 1.0.39, and 14all.cgi
Regards,
Marko
