Keep in mind that, as of version 5.0, ucd-snmp became net-snmp, and some configuration language has changed.

http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/tutorial/ will help with ucd-snmp (version 4.2.2 and lower)
http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/tutorial-5/ will help with net-snmp (AKA ucd-snmp 5.x and higher)
