If you don't want your graphs to be realistic, then why bother graphing? I
want to see the peaks when the backup runs. I want to know that daily
traffic never hits that high.
But if you don't.. I guess you could set MaxBytes to something lower than
actual so that MRTG ignores those peaks. /shrug
Remember, this isn't just to make pretty graphs, its for making useable
graphs to get an idea of bandwidth usage and limitations. I set all my
network graphs Unscaled, and yeah, that makes for a boring looking graph...
but at a glance I can see if something is misbehaving or if something peaks
unusually.
Sorry, I know you weren't looking for a lecture... but ya got one anyway.
Eric

Subject: [mrtg] Set highest point on graph
Hi All,
Im sure people have seen this request before. Every night our backups
run on all the servers and screws up our graphs. E.g. the scale on the
graph goes to to 50MB and we cant see traffic during the day.
Therefore is it possible to set the max of the graph to be, say 10MB.
Cheers
Ray
