Check out the lm_sensors project at http://secure.netroedge.com/~lm78/.
I found, but haven't tried, a patch for it that can do snmp at
http://people.redhat.com/harald/snmp-lmsensors/HOWTO-SENSORS-SNMPD.html.

Subject: [mrtg] graphing cpu temp / mobo fan revs, etc

As part of operation overkill I am trying to find ways and means,
through snmp or otherwise to graph variables like CPU temperature, fan
revs, etc.

OS: linux kernel 2.4

Is there any standard between motherboards, or does every vender
implement his own stuff?

I am totally lost and don't even know where to start looking.
