[mrtg] Indexmaker & portname

[MRTG 2.10.5 running on Solaris 8 on Sun SPARC hardware.]
Can anyone explain how to set the PAGETOP PORTNAME? 
I am trying to use the INDEXMAKER --SECTION=PORTNAME feature, and get this
error:

indexmaker  --section=portname  --output=index.html  mrtg.cfg 
ERROR: no Port Name: PageTop property in xxxxxxx.net.org_1024 section

There doesn't seem to be anything I can find in the manuals or archives that
address the idea of "property" within PageTop; I thought PageTop was just a
text (html) field?

Any input would be appreciated.
