[mrtg] problem with swapped values after dial up ip change

i am monitoring my ppp0-device, dsl-line. when my line gets disconnected
(24hrs, new ip) the following happens:

- it does not track upload speed anymore
- the value for download (what is real being downloaded) is now shown as
upload-value! 

so basically the values get swapped. i dont know what to do against it. i
restarted snmpd but this doesnt help. here is a image which shows the
behaviour after 2h in the morning. iptraf -d ppp0 shows correct values.
