Try running the config file manually, (on my box: /usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/mrtg /usr/local/mrtg-
2/cfg/router.cfg)
If you see no time markers (stamps) and a flat line, it is possible that the config file 
(router.cfg) contains a bad line not recognised by mrtg.
