Peter,
I tried to divide in dir the files html, log and image in the file. cfg put.
RunAsDaemon: Yes
Interval: 5
Language: brazilian
HtmlDir: K:\wwwroot\intranet_2\mrtg\html
LogDir: d:\mrtg-2.9.25\log
ImageDir: K:\wwwroot\intranet_2\mrtg\image
#Created by
#cfgmaker public at 10.10.0.1--global 'workdir:
k:\wwwroot\intranet_2\mrtg\html'--output mrtg.cfg
Without success. The files are being created all in the webserver.
The problem is that I create the file. cfg indicating the workdir. I am
thinking that that this giving problem, because all of the files are being
created inside of the road described by the workdir.
How do I do to create the files separately?
I am thinking that editing the file mrtg.cfg and putting HtmlDir, LogDir and
ImageDir would already separate automatically.

Marcelo,
I split the Dirs, as writing across a network can be slower, so keep the
log files local. The HTML and Image have to be put on the WebServer.
When it is running, look at the time each log file is created. Do they all
update close together, or spread out over 5 mins?
If they all create in under one minute, then it is an occasional
networking error that causes MRTG to fail
If they take nearly five mins, you need to split the job.
By the way. If you are using translation software, try a different vendor.
If this is your own English, it is much better than my Brazilian, so well
done.

Peter

Yes, the mrtg this turning in a machine and www in other.
Yes, I am using the pointed workdir for the other machine.
example: K:\wwwroot\intranet_2\mrtg\html
Where in the directory html this all of the files generated by the mrtg
(html, log,image)
I used Logdir, htmldir and more imagedir he continued stopping with
interval
mistake no completed.
A question: Which the difference that makes me to divide in directories and
to point the types of files in the. cfg?
I don't close the webserver for backups, because that is in the air 24
hours
a day.
He/she doesn't have any script that can this turning in that webserve that
can this stopping or impeding the access of the mrtg to the directory.
The only script that turns in Webserver and of site appearance. If he
impeded the mrtg of some thing, every time that somebody activated the
script, that is active in every access of the site, the mrtg would stop
working.
What doesn't happen.
Did you already face some problem with interval?
I tried to reduce the interval for 1 minute and he/she gave the following
mistake:
D:\mrtg-2.9.25\bin>perl mrtg mrtg.cfg
ERROR: CFG Error in "Interval": should be at least 5 Minutes (unless you
use
rrd
tool) at D:/mrtg-2.9.25/bin\..\lib\mrtg2/MRTG_lib.pm line 650.

Marcelo
You say MRTG runs on one machine, and WWW is on another.
Do you use workdir?
I would STRONGLY advise that you use LogDir pointing to a folder in the
MRTG machine, and HTMLdir and ImageDir pointing to the other machine.
Do you shut down the Webserver for backups?
Is there any other job running on the webserver that stops it allowing file
access from the MRTG machine.
(For a while I wrote the data your way, and it was much better after I
split the Dirs)
