Unless you have a need to communicate to the internet, there is no need to have those ports open on the external side of your firewall. Having them open on the inside should not present a problem.

Greeting MRTG folks!

I'm new in mrtg and snmp, but I've successfully installed mrtg and it's
running smooth now..
I got a question though...
I just ran nmap on my server and found to new ports that's open:

161/udp open snmp
199/tcp open smux

Will this cause any security problems, is this a firewall issue or snmp??? Anybody can help me please?? Can Ijust do a better job on my firewall
rules??

regards
