[mrtg] Changes not taking effect

My changes aren't taking effect on the generated html page when I edit
"/var/www/html/mrtg/cfg/mrtg.cfg" and then run
"/usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/mrtg /var/www/html/mrtg/cfg/mrtg.cfg". This seems
to have happened after I installed rrdtool but I can't confirm that for
sure. Does anyone have any ideas? If you need more info please let me
know. Sorry if this is a newbie question. :)
